In a large review study published in a scientific journal Journal of the American Medical Association, the aim was to determine the effectiveness of vitamin D intake3 in the prevention of falls.The analysis included 1237 respondents, and the results showed that taking vitamin D3 in the form of a dietary supplement, reduced the risk of falls in elderly people in stable health by more than 20%. Muscle strength and vitamin D3 - is there a link?

The aim of the research published in the scientific journal to the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise was to examine the link between vitamin D concentration3 in blood and muscle strength in 419 healthy men and women in the age range from 20 to 76 years.

The results showed that the level of vitamin D3 in serum significantly related to isometric and isokinetic strength of arm muscles and isometric strength of leg muscles.

The authors of the study conclude that this study supports a direct link between razines of vitamin D3 and muscle strength and notes that taking vitamin D3 as a dietary supplement could be an effective strategy for maintaining muscle strength in adults.
